The Red Devils have already played away against the rest of the self-styled 'big four', and have only one point to show for their efforts.
Their solitary return came in the Stamford Bridge clash with Chelsea, when Park Ji Sung and Salomon Kalou traded strikes in a 1-1 draw.
United then succumbed to Liverpool at Anfield by two goals to one and by the same scoreline to Arsenal at the Emirates two weeks ago.
As a result, Sir Alex Ferguson's side sit third in the league, trailing Chelsea and Liverpool by a gap of eight points, but with a game in hand.
Their league form against other opposition has been consistent, but points need to be taken at Old Trafford against the other title contenders in order for them to stay ahead of the pack.
Nemanja Vidic understands the importance of maintaining the pressure on the top two, while keeping Arsenal in check as they look over their shoulders.
He told the press: "We've played the top three away from home and I don't think we played too badly, although we conceded goals at bad times.
"From now on we can't just play well, we have to get the points too. Yes, we've dropped points, but we're not far off the top teams,so I'm not worried that much."

Berbatov Ready To Quit Bulgaria

The Lions of Bulgaria were smashed to pieces by silky Serbia on Wednesday evening and sections of the fanbase are blaming Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov for the nation's poor form.
Berba, who has scored 41 goals in 64 caps, has now had enough of the international scene and is threatening to tell the Bulgarian Football Union to count him out.
The hitman is a doubt for United's crucial clash with Aston Villa at the weekend, having limped out of the 6-1 battering after just half-an-hour with a hip problem. Hips don't lie and a thrashing ensued.
The Sun quotes his agent, Emile Danchev, as saying: “Dimitar said to me that, because people blame him for Bulgaria’s bad performances, he is ready to quit the national team.”
It would make sense. The 27-year-old started to throw his toys out of the pram when things went wrong at Spurs, eventually forcing a mega move to Old Trafford in the Summer. However, Danchev had better remind him that he can't switch to Dunga's Brazilian Seleção!

Villa's O'Neill: Arsenal Down, United To Go

The ever-improving Villans suffered a little dip in form just before the 2-0 win over the Gunners last week.
Now, Northern Irish boss Martin O'Neill has called for his side to keep the momentum going and really display their top-four credentials.
The boss said: "Arsenal? The result allied to the performance was really terrific.
"It was full of really good football and has certainly given a big boost of confidence to the players.
"We were so brave, so strong and so attack-minded. It was exhilarating.
"Now it's United. What do they do after the Arsenal win? They just have to take it on again...that will be very important."
Villa will go two points clear of United should they beat them at home on Saturday.

Bulgaria's Berbatov Injured As Milosevic Bows Out In Style
Plamen Markov's men were slaughtered 6-1 as Savo Milosevic ran riot in his 102nd and final international appearance.
The former Aston Villa striker netted twice in Belgrade, but he would have bagged four had he converted a pair of early spot-kicks.
"The emotions got the better of me when I took the penalties as my concentration dropped but I was delighted to go out with a brace, this match kind of summed up my entire career which has been full of ups and downs," Milosevic said in The Guardian.
Despite those lucky escapes, Bulgaria had enough to worry about at half-time after Manchester United forward Berbatov hobbled off the pitch with a suspected hamstring tear.
The news will not go down well at Old Trafford, especially as Wayne Rooney is less than 100 per cent after contracting a chest infection last week.

English midfielder Bryan Robson spent 13 years dominating the midfield for Manchester United. He was signed from midlands side West Bromwich Albion for a then British record fee of £1,500,000 in October 1981, stating that his motivations were medals.

He claimed two league titles, four FA Cups, a League Cup, a European Cup Winners' Cup, a European Super Cup, and even won a double in his final season as a Red Devil.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has recently stated that he thought nobody believed he could replace a legend like Bryan Robson (who received 90 international caps), but then Roy Keane, who was bought from Nottingham Forest, emerged into the first team and went on to captain United to multiple trophies.
Similarly, in Roy Keane's absence, Ferguson again said that replacing the Republic of Ireland international would have been mission impossible, but now Anderson is emerging as the heir to the central midfield throne.
Midfield Evolution
Ferguson also stated that Robson and Keane were different midfield players, just like Anderson again has a contrasting style, but insisted that this is how a midfield evolves.
Robson, though, believes that Anderson has some way to go before he can achieve what he and Keane did with the club.
"He's got a lot of attributes - lots of energy, but he's still learning and has a bit to go," Robson explained in the Manchester Evening News.
"He can be erratic with his passing and I'd like to see him score more goals. But he's got lots of qualities and the energy to get box to box.
"One of his best qualities is that he's not daunted by anything," Robson said, referring to Anderson's big-game mentality.
"Everybody talks about the flair of Brazilians, but the thing I noticed about them the first time I ever played against them was their mental toughness. Nothing fazes them, they just love playing."

Nemanja Vidic has built up a formidable defensive partnership with Rio Ferdinand since his arrival in the English league in 2006 from Russian side Spartak Moscow.
The 27-year old was a key component of the double-winning side last term, but reports at the start of the current season suggested Vidic was tired of life in Manchester.
Vidic allegedly said that the best thing about Manchester was the train station, as people could depart for less rainy cities.
His northern blemish may have been nothing more than a misquote though judging from the defender's latest comments.
"I definitely feel settled here," he told Sky Sports. "It is unnerving for everyone when they move clubs.
"When I joined Red Star Belgrade as a young player it was two hours away by car. It felt like the end of the world and at first it was very hard.
"It was the same when I came to Manchester United," he added.
"But you get used to it. I have more friends and I am used to the language. I really feel at home now."
Manchester United are currently third in the Premier League table. They are eight points adrift of top spot, but have a game in hand.

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the favourites to win the personal gongs next month after a sensational season with Manchester United last time out, but he recognised that other players were also in the running.
In an interview with Sao Paulo-based paper O Estado, Ronaldo stated that he wants to win the awards but also to go on and try and have an even better campaign this time around.
"I am the first, the second and the third best player in the world. But there are other good candidates like Kaká, Messi and Fernando Torres," he said.
"I think I did everything that is necessary to win and I want to continue doing even more.
"My aim is to win everything that is front of me."
Pelé has heaped praise on Ronaldo too ahead of Portugal's international friendly with Brazil and the United playmaker is flattered by the words of the legendary star.
"That means a lot to me. He was a great player and it is a special feeling to earn the praise of someone like Pelé," he continued.
Looking ahead to the game in Brasilia on Wednesday, Ronaldo stated that he feels A Seleção still have the greatest players and that things will come good again for them.
"They have, without doubt, the best player in the world and an excellent team, despite the negative results that they have had in some recent games," he added.
These comments are unlikely to win Ronaldo too many admirers with those who say that he is too quick to blow his own trumpet.
